Le Palais is the main port of Belle-Ile-en-Mer island, off Quiberon, in Morbihan. The city is surmounted by a 17th century Fortress designed by royal architect Vauban.
South of Lorient, in Morbihan, the Gâvres peninsula is a well preserved long stretch of beaches and dunes. An old ship graveyard can still be seen near the old fishermen village.
