Quimper is capital city of the Finistère department in Brittany (Bretagne), in northwestern France. The city is the ancient capital of Cornouaille, Brittany's most traditional region. It has a distinctive Breton character that climaxes in July during the famous festival. Quimper is world famous for its HB-Henriot faïence pottery and for its gothic-style Saint-Corentin Cathedral.
