This part of the photobank is dedicated to Quimper, capital of the Finistère department in Brittany (Bretagne), in northwestern France. Built on the confluence of the Steir, Odet and Jet rivers, Quimper is the ancient capital of Cornouaille, Brittany’s most traditional region. It has a distinctive Breton character that climaxes in July during the a famous festival. Quimper is world famous for its HB-Henriot faïence pottery and for its gothic-style Saint-Corentin Cathedral. Nearby the Musée des Beaux-Arts houses a collection of paintings that includes canvases by such Pont-Aven School painters as Paul Sérusier, Bernard, Denis, Lacombe, Maufra...
